We Integrate Recovery with Life
Since 1995, Shoreline Center for Eating Disorder Treatment has successfully been helping individuals achieve recovery from anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder for all genders, ages 13 and over. We offer personalized, compassionate programs, delivered by highly-trained and experienced eating disorder experts, many of whom are recovered themselves.
The journey of recovery from an eating disorder can be scary and challenging. Not only for the individual trying to break free from the dominating and familiar sounds of their thoughts and behaviors, but also for the family and friends who are trying to support their eating disorder recovery process.
We do not accept Medicare or Medicaid
We are here to help.
Eating Disorders We Treat
Care Through CulinaryTM:
Nourishing the Mind, Body, and Soul
At Shoreline, a vital part of treatment involves helping each client rebalance their
relationship with food, their mind and body, and their soul. Through our Care Through
Culinary program, we help clients progress in their recoveries by:
- Teaching them how to plan, shop, and prepare meals
- Helping them build supportive communities during meals with others
- Supporting them as they actively explore culinary options
- Providing welcoming therapeutic environments to help them change behaviors and
overcome fears
Treatment Options
We believe that eating disorder symptoms have been useful to a person in some way. This may sound strange, but whether they have helped disguise unhappy feelings, reduce intense bouts of anxiety or relieve the frustration of feeling out of control, the symptoms have worked to temporarily disguise inner conflict, even if at a great cost.
Residential Treatment (RTC)
The Satori House named after the Japanese word for “sudden enlightenment” is our licensed Eating Disorder Residential Program located in the beachside community of Belmont Shore in Long Beach.
Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP)
Our Intensive Outpatient Eating Disorder Program consists of 3 1/2 hours of treatment, from 3 to 6 days per week. We offer morning, evening, and weekend options to better meet the needs of our clients. The Program includes core group therapies as well as individual nutrition counseling, individual therapy, and psychiatric care.
Day Treatment / Partial Hospital Program (PHP)
Our Day Treatment Program is the most intensive treatment of our outpatient services. Our Partial/Day treatment program meets Monday through Saturday for six to eight hours each day. Participants will have multiple therapeutic groups a day, 2 individual therapy sessions per week, as well as visits with the psychiatrist and dietitian.
Payment Options
Shoreline’s Residential Treatment (RTC), Day Treatment (PHP), and Intensive Outpatient Treatment (IOP) programs are contracted with many insurance companies.

What Alumni and Families are Saying
We take pride in being available, present, and compassionate in all client interactions. No matter your state of mind or particular need in a situation, we are here to support you.
We had a very positive experience with Shoreline and our loved one has a completely different relationship with food. The intense emotional work (in both groups and individual therapy) has created lasting changes in self-image and provided practical, effective strategies to cope with stress in healthy ways. We couldn't have hoped for a better outcome. The program is solid and professionally implemented.

Shoreline is an amazing place to start your recovery process. Everyone there is so understanding and truly want the best for you. All the staff are super nice, funny, and accepting. I also made some great friends with many clients there and I am so glad I chose this place to begin my recovery journey. I miss everyone there so much and if you are struggling this is the place for you.

Shoreline really is an amazing place to receive treatment for an eating disorder. The staff are all highly qualified as well as being empathetic, caring, and truly dedicated to helping their clients on the road to recovery. My time there truly was transforming. They helped set me up for real success in recovery. The Orange County location is in a very nice area and the offices and group rooms are cozy, welcoming, and safe. I would recommend this location to anyone struggling.
